While social networking
may be new and intimidating for some, many people have found a journey of discovery for themselves and those they encounter
along the way. Begin your own personal quest today and become a life long relationship builder. Your
experience is ultimately yours and this dynamic journey begins; and ends with you.
We believe that we can
help anyone develop a winning strategy for success at our events. Begin to develop a balanced list
of personal and professional contacts from within our group. It is unreasonable to expect that everyone is working
from the same agenda, so take things slow and steady until you get a better feel for the flow of our group, which is
ever changing from one event to the next. Respect everyone that you meet and win the respect of others by
being hospitable. It shouldn't take long for you to identify new friends, potential business contacts and future
relationships if you stay on task.
Here are 10 simple strategies that you can implement immediately to
help you develop a way to yeild results that will have you returning often. Keep track of the things that work for you
and eventually you will find personal growth as you master the power of social networking from building strong
relationships within our vibrant community.
- Create a process for self discovery like starting a journal
or starting a blog to measure your growth.
- Write 10 goals that you hope
to accomplish from your participation and log them in your journal. Conduct a personal growth experiment.
- Plan to arrive early. Bring business cards to exchange with those you feel
are worth knowing. Try to leave with 10 new business cards per event.
- Nurture
new relationships by sending out short follow up emails after the event.
- Dedicate
the majority of your time meeting new people at the events and plan shorter visits with familiar faces.
- If you feel uncomfortable leaving friends alone during an event, encourage them to go around the room
with you.
- Ask questions that help you find common interests, like:
Where are you from? or What do you do for a career?
- Try to remember
as many names as possible and quiz yourself as the night progresses. Just before you leave make a pass through and say
good night.
- Be memorable with conversation, personality and presence. Be
polite, positive and personable.
- Try to invite your friends to come out with you
and share your positive experiences with others. Use the events to help your friends learn the skills you've learned.
Now that you're ready to go, please visit our events page
